On Tuesday, April 12, 2022 at approximately 4:36PM, Burlington City Police patrols observed Jevon Mobley, age 28 of Burlington City walking near the intersection of York St and Green St. Officers were aware of an active arrest warrant for Mobley issued by the Edgewater Park Twp. Municipal Court. As patrol officers approached Mobley they advised him verbally that he had a warrant for his arrest and that he was under arrest. Mobley immediately fled on foot and officers pursued him. After a brief foot pursuit officers were able to take Mobley into custody. During the arrest Mobley was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine, heroin, and prescription medication not prescribed to him by a licensed medical practitioner. As a result of the incident one officer sustained an arm injury that required medical attention. The officer was treated at a local medical facility and has returned to duty. Mobley was subsequently charge with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement officer, Resisting Arrest, Hindering his own Apprehension, Obstructing Administration of Law, Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) with Intent to Distribute, Possession of CDS, Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute in a School Zone, and Possession of CDS with Intent to Distribute near Public Housing and/or Public Park. He was lodged in the Burlington County Detention Facility.
