Temperatures are predicted to break 90 degrees this week. According to the National Institues of Health, senior citizens are particularly at risk of heat-related illnesses during the summer months. Too often, seniors without the ability to cool off suffer as the mercury rises.
The Burlington County Office on Aging has 20-inch box fans available for senior citizens in need, providing a cost-effective way to reduce the risk of heat stress. If you find yourself in need of a fan, call the Office on Aging at: 609-265-5069. The staff there are eager to help you stay safe this summer.
Anyone in need of cooling off, senior or otherwise, is welcome at any of the Burlington County Library System libraries, located throughout the county.
