Burlington City Police Investigating 2 Shooting Incidents
 
The City of Burlington Police Department is investigating two separate shooting incidents that occurred in the area of Saint Mary Street and Laumaster Street within the past week.
The first incident occurred on Friday, August 27, 2021, at approximately 10:30 pm, when officers on bicycle patrol in the New Yorkshire Neighborhood heard several gunshots in the area of Saint Mary Street. Officers immediately were stopped by a motorist reporting her vehicle was struck by the gunfire. There were no injuries in the vehicle reported and several casings were recovered during the investigation. A pedestrian, a 41 year old Burlington City resident, had a graze wound to his foot. He was transported to Memorial Hospital of Burlington County where he was treated and released.
 
The second incident occurred on Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at approximately 10:01pm, when officers responded to a report of gunfire on Saint Mary Street. When officers arrived, they located a 19 year old Burlington City resident suffering from a gunshot to the hip. He was transported to Cooper University Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition. The on-scene investigation revealed that a 4 door silver vehicle was observed leaving the scene at a high rate of speed.
No arrests have been made and both incidents are under investigation to see if they are isolated incidents.
