News Release – Death Investigation – 1/27/23

On January 26, 2023, at approximately 2:37pm, the City of Burlington Police Department was dispatched to the area of Commerce Square Boulevard for a report of an unconscious person alongside the Delaware River. When patrol officers arrived, they found a male who was deceased.

 

Detectives from the City of Burlington Police Department responded to the scene. The male was identified as a 38 year old Burlington Township resident. His name will not be released at this time.

 

There were no obvious signs of foul play and the investigation revealed that he entered the water in the area of Riverbank and Wood Street the day prior, on January 25, 2023, where his vehicle was located by detectives.

 

The body was turned over to the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office and the investigation is continuing. Assisting agencies in this case include the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office.
