Our Mission Statement
The mission of the City of Burlington Police Division is to ensure the best quality of life for our citizens through partnerships with the community, enforcement of the law, and the provision of a safe environment. We will act professionally, and ensure that all officers conduct themselves with the highest level of moral and ethical standards.

Straight to Treatment
It is a program created to help those that are caught in the powerful grip of addiction and substance abuse – but would like to break free – with the opportunity to be connected to a program to assist them with overcoming their addiction. You do NOT need insurance to participate.

Burlington County Recovery Center
The Recovery Center serves as a “one-stop” destination where individuals can be paired with a recovery peer, and obtain information about treatment programs, recovery support services and community resources. Wellness activities and classes, and recovery groups are also scheduled and held here.
PRESS RELEASE – 9/28/23
On Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at approximately 7:31 AM, the City of Burlington Police Department responded to the 1100 block of East Pearl St. for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving a vehicle and electric bicycle. Upon arrival, officers found that the rider of the electric bicycle sustained extensive injuries. He was transported by aeromedical to Cooper Trauma Center in Camden, NJ. The driver of the vehicle, a 28yo male from Howell, New Jersey remained on location. It is not believed that alcohol or narcotics played a part in the crash, however the incident remains under investigation. The electric bicycle rider was identified as Ivan Makaruha, age 35 of Burlington City, New Jersey. On September 23, 2023 Makaruha succumbed to his injures. This case is currently being investigated by the City of Burlington Police Department Traffic Unit and Criminal Investigation Division.
