The mission of the City of Burlington Police Division is to ensure the best quality of life for our citizens through partnerships with the community, enforcement of the law, and the provision of a safe environment. We will act professionally, and ensure that all officers conduct themselves with the highest level of moral and ethical standards.
Straight to Treatment
It is a program created to help those that are caught in the powerful grip of addiction and substance abuse – but would like to break free – with the opportunity to be connected to a program to assist them with overcoming their addiction. You do NOT need insurance to participate.
Volunteers of America Delaware Valley (VOADV) is a local affiliate of national, non-profit organization, Volunteers of America, and provides essential services to our community’s most vulnerable individuals. Each year, we serve more than 13,000 individuals throughout the southern New Jersey and Philadelphia region and operates more than 40 high quality, outcome-driven assistance programs – from homelessness, reentry, veteran’s assistance and affordable housing services to specialized programs for individuals with addiction, traumatic brain injury and/or intellectual disabilities.
Summer EBT Program
Summer EBT is a new-to-NJ child nutrition program intended to reduce hunger and food insecurity for children during the summer. This summer, NJ will be sending an EBT card to every eligible child to purchase food at participating retailers. This benefit is separate from SNAP, P-EBT, and other benefits a family might receive. Juneteenth Freedom Day
In celebration of Juneteenth the City of Burlington Police Department would like to highlight some significant historical facts. By 1790, Burlington County had the largest free Black population of any county in the state, according to the Library of Congress. “This can be attributed to its location in the Delaware Valley, known as the ‘cradle of emancipation,’ where slaves were freed on a large scale,” it said. “The sizeable presence and influence in the valley of Quakers, America's first organized group to speak out against the evils of bondage, enabled this region to be the pacesetter regarding black emancipation.” Once called Wheatley’s Burlington Pharmacy, this building was a Quaker-owned building used to harbor runaway slaves and the site of anti-slavery rallies. Located at 301 High St. in Burlington City, it is also the oldest pharmacy in continuous operation in the state. On Thursday, June 20, 2024, (rain date 06/21/2024), the Burlington City Board of Education will be joined by the Burlington City High School Graduating Class of 2024 at the Wilbur Watts Intermediate School for their Commencement Ceremony beginning at 6:00 pm. The event will utilize the Wood Street side of the school as the entry point. The Burlington City Police Department will be posting temporary “No Parking” signs on Wood St between Rt 130 and Federal Street for this event. This temporary parking restriction will begin at 3:00 pm until the ceremony is over and cleared which, is anticipated to be approximately 8:00 pm. Handicap parking will be available within the JFK Park, off Wood St, as well as designated spots at the school. We strongly encourage those needing handicap spots to arrive early as practical parking spots tend to fill quickly. The City of Burlington Dog Walker Watch Kickoff Event will be held Saturday, June 22nd from 12pm to 2pm at the Burlington City Dog Park on Highland Avenue.
