PRESS RELEASE – October 22, 2021
 
On Sunday, October 17, 2021 at approximately 12:28AM, Burlington City Police patrols were dispatched to 690 Rte 130 at Montagano’s Car Dealership for a report of several subjects pushing all-terrain vehicles away from the dealership. At the time of the call a Burlington Township Police patrol was traveling on Rte 130 in that area and responded to provide assistance. This officer observed three subjects with two all-terrain vehicles in the 500 block of Columbus Rd. All three individuals immediately fled on foot upon observing police presence. Additional officers responded and following a brief foot pursuit, Dahquan Lightfoot, age 21 of Trenton, NJ was taken into custody. During his arrest Lightfoot continued to aggressively resist officers. While placing Lightfoot in custody, officers found him to be in possession of a defaced handgun. ​Lightfoot was charged with Theft, Receiving Stolen Property, Resisting Arrest, Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Obstruction, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Certain Person Not to Possess a Weapon, and Possession of a Defaced Firearm. He was lodged in the Burlington County Detention Facility.
