PRESS RELEASE
On Saturday, April 2, 2022 at approximately 5:50PM, Burlington City Police Patrols observed a subject in the area of East Federal St. and Lawrence St. who had an active warrant for his arrest as a result of a domestic violence incident. Upon observing police, the subject immediately fled on foot. Officers gave him numerous commands to stop and that he was under arrest, however he continued to flee. After a brief foot pursuit officers were able to apprehend him, however he continued to physically resist and fight officers until being taken into custody. During this incident one officer sustained a wrist injury that required medical attention at a local hospital. The officer continues to be treated for the injury. Korey Williams, age 38 of Burlington City was subsequently charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Administration of Law and Hindering His Own Apprehension. Williams was lodged in the Burlington County Detention Facility.
