On Saturday, July 29, 2023 at approximately 11:55 PM Burlington City Police patrols were dispatched to the unit block of East Federal St for a report of gunshots. As officers arrived a resident from East Federal St. stated that her house had been hit by gunfire. The residence was struck by a stray bullet and was not the intended target. Officers and detectives found a casing at the scene, as well as a handgun.
As a result of a subsequent investigation Crashon Diggs, age 20 of Burlington Twp. NJ was charged with numerous offenses. He was taken into custody on Saturday, July 31, 2023 during an unrelated incident. Diggs was lodged in the Burlington County Detention Facility pending Court. Diggs was charged with Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon, Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Receiving Stolen Property and Criminal Mischief.
